Help future generations
put liberty into practice

Students need opportunities to ask difficult questions, consider different perspectives, and practice the responsibilities of citizenship. Teachers help make those experiences possible.

A gift to the Bill of Rights Institute in your will or estate plans can help future generations continue that learning.

Support Learning That Students Carry Into Their Lives

Your gift helps teachers guide thoughtful discussions about America’s history and founding principles. It gives students opportunities to weigh evidence, develop their own judgment, and work with others to strengthen their communities.

BRI’s nonpartisan approach connects learning about self-government with opportunities to practice it.

“I can confidently say this organization has transformed my perspective on government and citizenship for the better.”

Plan a Gift That Fits Your Life

Your plans can provide for the people you love and support the causes that matter to you.

1

Include BRI in your will or living trust

Work with your attorney to leave BRI:

  • A specific dollar amount.
  • A percentage of your estate.
  • A share of what remains after other gifts and obligations are fulfilled.

A gift through your will is often called a bequest. It lets you arrange future support without making a donation today.

Your Next Step

Share BRI’s giving details and sample language with your attorney, who can help adapt your plans to your wishes and circumstances.

2

Name BRI as a beneficiary

You may also be able to leave a gift through an IRA, another retirement account, or a life insurance policy. Naming BRI as a beneficiary can direct all or part of the remaining account balance or policy proceeds to support future civic learning.

Your Next Step

Ask your account provider or insurer how to add a charitable beneficiary. Use BRI’s giving details below and confirm any account restrictions or required spousal consent.

Beneficiary designations generally operate separately from your will, so review both with your advisor.

Please contact us before specifying a particular program or purpose. We can work with you and your advisor to understand your wishes and consider language that can serve future needs.

What If I’m Still Exploring?

You don’t need to have every detail decided before reaching out. We’re happy to answer questions about BRI’s work and provide information for a conversation with your attorney or financial advisor.
