MyImpact Challenge
Essential Question
How can students practice the skills of citizenship now? By working through this curriculum that fosters a robust understanding of citizenship and gets them active in their communities as young people!

Start students thinking! Explore the purpose of the project and get them started on their own project by identifying a challenge in their community they wish to address.

Give students tools to explore citizenship and civic virtues as they prepare for the next portion of their project.

Help students describe the responsibilities and limits of federal and local government and explore the role government organizations might play in solving their project challenge.

Examine how Americans have participated in charitable associations in the past before exploring possible connections between their own project ideas and current charitable organizations. Use this peer review activity to help students reflect on and refine their project plan.

Examine the impact of entrepreneurship on civil society. Help students weigh the pros and cons of the different solution options (government, charity, or entrepreneurship) and select the option that best suits their project challenge.

Help students refine their project plan using design thinking based questions as they prepare to put their plan into action.
